The endless stream of unwanted calls can be really nerve-wracking, so you can do nothing but block them. Although, is it possible without including phone numbers from your contact list?
Yes, but it means some trade-offs. The Do Not Disturb mode is a convenient iPhone setting which allows you to block notifications, messages or calls. However, you can set exceptions for any of these options, if needed. All you have to do is the following:
- Open Settings > Do Not Disturb.
- Tap Allow Calls From.
- You have several options, but one is All Contacts.
If you don’t want to receive calls from certain people or any calls at all, you can create a group and put the numbers there.
Also, you can use such option as Scheduled Do Not Disturb. If you don’t want to be disturbed in a desired period of time, just set the time and DND will automatically stop all your incoming calls.
The only disadvantage is that, constantly keeping your phone in DND mode, you can miss important calls if they are received from the unknown number. In such cases, you can find alternative and use another call-blocking apps. For example, Hiya or AT&T’s Call Protect also filter all your blocked numbers and see some phone calls as Suspected Spam.
