The psychologist Ed Diener is a world-renowned researcher who has done extensive research into a wide variety of topics, including the psychology of consciousness and neuropsychology. He has also written a number of books, including The Mind-Body Problem and Consciousness and the Self.
I feel like most psychologists are like the scientists that Google likes to claim they are: Too nerdy for the real world. Diener is pretty high on the nerdy side and is a good example for us of a scientist who is not interested in the technicalities. In fact, the title of his book The Mind-Body Problem is a pretty good example of what I am talking about.
As for Diener, he has published a number of books, including The Problem of Consciousness and the Self. As for me, I’m pretty high on the nerdy side, and I’m sure have read most of the books referenced in the video. Of course, as I said, I’m not a real scientist, just someone who is interested in the technical aspects of these things. Even so, I’m definitely not a sciencey person by any means.
I do like sciencey stuff a lot, but I am not always interested in it. I read lots of academic journals (and read a lot of fiction too), and I like to think I am an honest one. As for myself, I have been reading a lot of journals lately, and I am starting to get into some topics. I think of all of the things I read like the same book, and I have a pretty solid idea of what kind of research is covered.
Okay. I’m going to tell you what I think I think is interesting, but it’s not really a research proposal at all. It’s just this “What I do” kind of project. When I think of research, I think of reading about stuff. Reading about stuff is important too. Reading about stuff makes it easier to talk about stuff, because it’s more tangible and you can talk about it around a table or in a big book rather than a spreadsheet or a word document.
If you’re not already a fan, I recommend the book “The Psychology of Human Computation” by Richard Feynman. It’s long, but it covers a lot of topics that are interesting, and the authors do a great job of describing the psychology behind the work they do. But it also has a ton of information about the psychology behind the work itself, so if you’re interested just go ahead and read it.
Yeah, that book is kind of boring and a little misleading. But if you really want to get a look into the psychology of computer science, here is the link to their website. The whole point of the paper is to describe the psychological work that they do, so it doesnt really matter if you find the whole thing to be boring.
Psychology works kind of like a game. You play it to see how you can gain the best score at the end of the game. Thats the idea. If you gain the highest score, you win, unless you already have the highest score and your opponent is already above you. Then you lose. I think the best way to get a sense of what the game is like, if you play a game of psychology, is to read a book on it.
Psychologists study behavior and the way that we use our minds by asking the questions, “What kinds of things do we normally do or think? What kinds of thoughts occur to us? How do we react when we are confronted with a problem?” Psychology has been around for hundreds of years and has helped people understand themselves and the world they live in. The more we understand ourselves and the world around us, the easier it becomes to control ourselves and our behavior.
Psychologists are constantly trying to understand how we think and how we behave and what it is that we find difficult and rewarding to learn and how we cope with our challenges. If you think you know everything about any subject, you are a fool. The same is true of psychology.
